Gamma Pi GAZETTE

Acheivement Week: is a nationally mandated program.Originally designed to promote the study of Negro life and history. Today, Achievement Week is used to seek out and give due recognition to those individuals at the local and national level who have made a noteworthy contribution toward improving the quality of life for black Americans (see also National High School Essay Contest). Charles Drew Blood Drive: is a nationally mandated program. Established at the 2000 Conclave, each chapter must hold an annual blood drive in June of each year. Gamma Pi strives to meet and exceed the goals established. View pictures from our 2007 blood drive effort.

Ron McNair 5k Run/Walk:

Project Enrich "A Prototype For Achievement" : is a special program designed to provide high school students, beginning at the ninth grade level, with educational foundations and preparatory experiences which would assist them in their enrollment in and adjustment to higher education institutions committed to the educational development of black youth, particularly the Historically Black Colleges and Universities.  The program builds upon the student’s academic program by providing: academic support workshops, academic and financial college planning seminars,college visitations,career awareness opportunities  

Que Kids Day: The philospohy of Que Kids aims to to teach our children cognitively, socially, emotionally and physically. We provide children with an environment that helps to identify positive male role models in their community. We beleive that this will add to their levels and abilities, that is based on their interests, and supports their individual growth. We engage in activities that promote social growth and social awareness for the community

Charles R. Drew Memorial Scholarship:The Scholarship Program is intended to promote academic excellence among the undergraduate members. Graduate chapters are expected to provide financial assistance to student members and non-members.

Senior Citizens Banquet: Gamma Pi works to recognize our most important assets, our Seniors. Gamma Pi often has parties, awards and dinners for out Senior citizens for the tireless work and added value to our community

Talent Hunt : Each year the chapter conducts this annually mandated program. This event is open to all high school students in Prince George's County. The students compete individually in several performance categories and a visual arts category. Prizes are awarded in each category for 1st, 2nd & 3rd place. An overall winner is chosen to represent the chapter at a district event which takes place in MD, DE, NJ, NY or PA. Winners from the district level are eligible to compete at an international level for additional monetary prizes and scholarships. This program provides exposure, encouragement and financial assistance to talented young people participating in the Performing Arts. Winners of the competition are awarded recognition for their talents. Awards may include college scholarships at our International level.

Suitland Manor Thanksgiving Project: The men of of Omega finds it pleasing to offer Thanksgiving Dinners to feed nearly one hundred individuals. Each Thanksgiving it is a pleasure to host these dinners yearly.
